Gandhi Jayanti Celebration



The College celebrated birth anniversaries of both Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on 02nd October 2018. All teachers, students & staff attended the event. The celebrations for Gandhi Jayanti started welcoming all the teachers and students explained the significance of the day. After the lamp-lighting a highlighted presentation on Gandhiji’s childhood and his childhood stories was made by students.

The Principal addressed the gathering and said that India secured its independence through non-violence while all other countries attained it through bloodshed. And he added that it was Mahatma Gandhi who led India to freedom and Lal Bahadur Shastri was one of the prominent disciples of Gandhiji who helped him and the country in this noble struggle. Lal Bahadur Shastri, our second Prime Minister, gave us a slogan ‘Jai Jawaan Jai Kisan’ which is remembered by all the Indian and especially by the agrarian community even today. He said that Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri are the two leaders who built a strong foundation of today’s India.

The anchors gave a brief on various facets of Gandhiji’s life. The speech also mentioned about Gandhiji’s freedom struggle and various sacrifices made by him for the country.The final speech was about the independence of India & the sad end of the Mahatma. The event ended with his favorite prayer, ’Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’.
